Syllory

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 25, 2026

Syllory is a local-first book reader for macOS. This policy describes how the Syllory app handles information.

Information stored on your Mac

Books you import, extracted book files, reading positions, and reading preferences are stored in Syllory’s local application library on your Mac. Syllory does not require an account and does not send this library, your reading progress, or app usage to Syllory servers.

On-device Foundation Models

If you choose Explain or Translate and Apple Intelligence is available, Syllory provides the selected text and nearby passage to Apple’s on-device Foundation Models for processing on your Mac. Syllory does not transmit that text to a Syllory server. Availability depends on your Mac, macOS version, language, region, and Apple Intelligence settings.

Analytics and advertising

Syllory does not include advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking SDKs. The app does not collect account details or usage analytics for the developer.

Your choices

You choose which book files to import. You can remove imported books from the library using the app. Books and preferences are stored locally on the Mac where they were imported; Syllory does not provide cloud sync.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Syllory’s features or data practices change. The “Last updated” date above identifies the current version.
